act for change: Survivors unite

Update from Survivors Unite who took part in our Act for Change project.

“Thank you for your support through Borders Act for Change! With the £250 funding, we purchased tools, gardening equipment, flowers, and soil to enhance our community green space. Volunteers of all ages came together to plant a variety of flowers, improving biodiversity and creating a welcoming space for everyone to enjoy. This action not only improved our new outdoor area but also encouraged our Friday Group to think of creative ways to use our new space – from chats, to gardening sessions, outdoor crafts etc. The project will foster a sense of shared responsibility and learning. While it was our Friday Group who took part, we hope that staff and other clients also benefit from the space. We’re excited to build on this momentum!

Our next steps include organising seasonal planting events and developing a small vegetable-growing initiative to promote sustainable food practices. We hope to continue engaging more people in hands-on climate action! T

hanks again for your support, particularly Isla who mucked in and was a great help!”
