youth green summit

Working in partnership with the teachers and students from Jedburgh Grammar School, SBCAN planned and delivered a Youth Green Summit on Friday 27th September 2024. 

Many of the schools in the Borders have Eco groups but this was the first time that they have come together.  We had representatives from Selkirk High, Berwickshire High, Jedburgh Grammar, Hawick High and Galashiels High. 

The event went well and there was a real buzz in the room.  The day was a mix of speakers (topics chosen by the students) and time for discussion.  A key take away from the day from everyone was the desire to continue to work together.  The students wanted to meet again but also to take action in their local communities.   

SBCAN is now working on the next steps with the teachers and students, watch this space for some exciting projects to come.
