Borders Act for change: Update

February has been a busy one with our SBCAN's Borders Act for Change project. This is the first year we have done this and we have been so impressed with all the activity that has taken place as a result. We had over 65 actions pledged by schools, community groups and volunteer organisations across the Scottish Borders! It is estimated that 3500+ individuals have got involved in taking positive action in their communities.

The range of activities has been so exciting to see. We have had tree-planting days, community litter picks, circular economy art workshops, clothes swaps, garden re-vamps, hot composter installations, community garden open days, environmental film screenings and so much more! All of these commitments showcase the incredible creativity and determination within our network of community climate action.  We can’t wait to see these actions come to life over the next month. You can read more on the inspiring work of the groups on our website news page where we will be posting updates over the next few weeks on the actions.

But climate action doesn’t stop with February. Let’s keep the momentum going and build on these positive actions!

Check out SBCAN’s events calendar for upcoming opportunities to get involved and be inspired. You can add your activities to the calendar to share with the network too.

Together, we can show how the Scottish Borders leads the way in climate action!
