South of Scotland Enterprise is working with Local Energy Scotland to highlight community shared ownership of renewables, the potential benefits, how it can work and what advice and assistance is available for communities in making decisions on whether or not to pursue shared ownership.

Shared ownership gives community groups the chance to make an investment in a commercially owned renewable energy project. This provides an opportunity for income as well as many other benefits. It’s the Scottish Government’s ambition that all renewable developments should consider, explore, and offer shared ownership opportunities.
